 Preached: November 2013 There are moments in our journey of faith when God calls us to rise above what we feel, what we fear, and what we see. These are the moments that separate religion from relationship, belief from trust, and sight from faith. The world teaches us to depend on what we can see, touch, calculate, or control, but the Word of God teaches something higher. Faith is not rooted in what is seen, it is anchored in what is eternal. 2 Corinthians 5:7 tells us, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” This is not just a call, it is a command. It is not just an encouragement, it is a foundation for how the believer lives and breathes. Faith is not a feeling we stir up when we need something, it is a posture of trust in a God who never fails, even when everything else seems to fall apart. We are not just believers, we are His hands, His feet, and His heart on this earth. When we forget this, we lose sight of the very reason we were called. But when we embrace it, we begin to walk in the footsteps of Jesus, who came not to be served, but to serve. In a world that constantly says, “Look out for yourself,” Jesus whispers, “Give of yourself.” And that whisper, if we listen closely, is the very heartbeat of heaven. There is no greater example of love than Jesus Christ, and no deeper expression of that love than how He chose to serve. He came not to be served, but to serve. Not to demand, but to give.
